Some friends started a wine label a few years ago, and this past weekend I had the pleasure of tasting their wines for the first time. The tasting party was held at the grower's estate in Escondido, and we walked through the vineyards, stopping along the path to try one wine at a time. Such a great event, and such great wine after all of the anticipation! I highly recommend future Blue Door events. Thanks Marc and Charlie! The Blue Door Winery

Well considering I have been here the past three consecutive weekends since my first trip and brought four different friends here, I feel compelled to climb the rooftops to proclaim my crush on Cafe Bassam in Banker's Hill. I find myself daydreaming about the place, wondering what it's doing right now and if the magic will be the same the next time I see it. The Chai Latte is my favorite, and the people watching is almost as good as the airport. Not to mention all of the gorgeous antiques! Check it out but don't steal it away from me!
